All those people who exercise to lose weight have been told about the rules of fitness at one time or other. Some might have even heard about the benefits of hgh in losing weight. With more studies having been conducted in this field, many rules have changes and have been actually proven to be myths. Given below are 6 fitness myths that have been busted:

Myth 1 – Do Cardios To Burn Calories

Everyone who has lost weight has been told that cardios are the best way to lose weight. You actually need to workout very intensely to lose weight by doing only cardios. As your body gets accustomed to the cardios, the number of calories burnt begins to reduce. Yes! This is a true fact! To burn fact, you have to try out other exercises like weight lifting. Weight lifting results in intensive fat burning and also builds muscle. It is a well-known fact that building muscle boosts metabolic rate.

Myth 2 – Resting Between Sets Decreases Burnt Calories

This is what your trainer would have told you – If you rest between sets, you will burn fewer calories. In fact, the truth is that when you rest between sets, you give your muscles, the chance to recuperate. This leads to fewer injuries and you can concentrate on your next set. While it is true that you need to rest between sets, do not give yourself too much time to rest if you want good results. Also, instead of jumping from one exercise to another, try the muscle confusion method. Workout one set of muscles and take a short 10 minute break. Your workout can include the same muscles or muscle groups. The next day, you can concentrate on another set of muscles. This will bring about faster results.

Myth 3 – Crunches Will Give You A Six Pack

Doing just crunches will not give you the abs that you so desire. Combine them with cardios and exercises that strengthen your core to get the maximum benefit from crunches. Exercises like Pilates combined with cardios are designed to give you washboard abs. Add to this a healthy diet and you are on your way to flat six pack abs.

Myth 4 – You Must Workout Outside in all weather conditions

Despite what you have been told, working out in weather conditions like the cold or in a foggy weather is harmful for health, more so if you are prone to allergies. All weather extremities are not good for outdoor workout. On such days, lift weights indoors or workout at the gym. This will give you a chance to change the routine and at the same time, prevent your falling sick in bad weather.

Myth 5 – Do Any Workout As Long As It Is Physical Activity

Every physical activity does not help you to burn calories. The activity that you do may not be intense enough. When you read magazines, you will see the difference in burnt calories when you vacuum, stand and run. The former two burn minimum calories, even though they are physical activities. Don’t design your workouts to include only housework. Intersperse them with high-intensity exercises like jogging, sprinting or power walking.

Defy the coming principles of fitness preached by a lot of self-appointed health gurus and workout well for a healthier and lean body.
