The slimming path is not really that easy. There are many problems that you need to combat on your way. Redness of skin is one such issue. A lot many of you might have noticed a flushing effect in your cheeks and other areas of your skin once you are done with exercising.
This flushing effect of the skin and other body parts happen due to the increased amount of internally generated temperature when we exercise. It can be reasoned as an increase in the blood supplies though the vessels and also the heat generated due to the friction between the muscles when we exercise. Unless there is an itchy and burning sensation to your red spot on the skin, there is no reason to worry and the reddening of the skin is a pretty normal phenomena. The red spot can be attributed to allergy or skin fungus in case you have an accompanying burning and itching sensation. The possible reasons might be:
1. Thermogenesis
The skin generates a lot of internal heat when the muscles are in action during our exercise. This process is termed as thermogenesis. Thermogenesis results in the skin around the muscles to cool themselves automatically once the exercise routine is over in order to match with the room temperature. This cooling effect is considered to be the reason behind most cases of skin reddening and flushing effects and can happen on any limbs which are continuously exercised.
2. Increased Heart Activity
Increased blood circulation in our system due to faster heart beatings and cardio vascular exercises can also be a reason behind the reddening of the skin. It is commonly noticed that spot training of any body part results in its turning red or pinkish on finishing the exercise and this vanishes after a few hours once the blood pumping rate has returned to normal.
3. Rashes

An itchy rash is often the cause of skin redness.
There can be other reasons behind reddening of the skin during or after an exercise routine. They include the likes of skin fungus, allergies towards creams, gym clothes or from foreign particles in the atmosphere. Consulting a dermatologist is the solution in case you are suffering from any of these. Exercising can intensify the symptoms and thus you are advised to consult your doctor before starting a fitness regime.
