LA Fitness Euless Texas

5 Reviews

Built as one of the company’s stand-alone facilities the Euless, TX LA Fitness is the type of gym that has all of the amenities that one would expect from a super-club. Combine that with an extensive parking lot, dedicated personal trainers, and modern equipment and you have a recipe for success and consistent results on your journey to a better you.

As is the case with most LA Fitness facilities, the Euless, Texas facility provides each member with a winning combination of strength training, cardio training, and team sports in a variety of settings.

Those who are focused on increasing strength can choose from either the free weights area or the selectech machines. Both serve the purpose of packing on slabs of muscle and increasing the body’s overall resting metabolic rate, but they do it in two very different ways. Free weights require a greater degree of focus and a moderate level of familiarity with how to properly execute the various movements. They also provide the added benefit in the fact that multiple muscle groups are usually required to complete the various exercises and thus a greater whole-body training experience is achieved. Isolation machines also enhance the body’s production of lean muscle mass, but they do so in a way that focuses in on specific muscle groups. Machines are easier to get used and so workouts which are machine-based tend to be faster to master and faster to execute. Whichever path you choose, there is enough equipment in both lines at this LA Fitness to keep you going forever.

Cardiovascular training is primarily addressed by a small army of treadmills and elliptical machines as well as a number of rowing and stair climbing devices. Most of these training tools allow you to adjust both speed and angle of climb so you can get a workout of varying intensity. LA Fitness offers group exercise classes at no extra charge here as well so there is a good variety of ways to get your heart rate up and your body fat down.

Swimming, basketball, and racquetball are also made available for those who like to increase their level of fitness in a different way at this LA Fitness. The facility also features a nrgizer juice bar, Kids Klub child watch area, and premium locker rooms with attached dry-heat sauna.

Many people are interested in how clean the club is kept and how friendly the staff are. This is the type of thing that can vary over time as different managers come and go, so it’s often best to read reviews as well as to take a tour to get a first-hand impression on these issues.

Out of all the LA Fitness gyms I have been to, this one is not close to being as good as the others. You can’t buy a cold bottle of water or anything else to drink. The men’s locker room always has a nasty smell. I think people are leaving their work out clothes in the locker overnight. Half the time the clothes spinner for swim wear doesn’t work. They are very busy there. So I understand that they might not be able to keep up the quality as the others. I just wish I lived closer to Grapevine’s.

The Euless, TX center is filthy. The locker room is always nasty the showers have trash and hair in the drains every time we have been there and the pool and hot tub are so cloudy you can’t see the bottom. Looking in the drains there are even sucker sticks and gum. The sides of the pool don’t look like they have been cleaned since December. I joined for the pool and when my husband tried to complain to the manager he was not interested enough to talk to him. He escaped and sent a worker to discuss it. I have complained about 6 times and they do not care. Today the showers were so gross we came home to shower. The glass has not been wiped down or cleaned in at least 3 weeks. There are a lot of other good gyms near me. Grapevine is much much better and if they do not start cleaning the pool properly I will have to cancel my membership because this is not clean enough.

LA Fitness Euless is perfect for either beginning exercisers who want easy aerobics classes and simple cardio and weight machines or big buff men who only want to work out in the free weight section. For those of us in the middle who have been exercising at a high level for a while and expect a lot from a gym, it’s really not up to par.
For one thing, the classes (with the exception of spin) are not progressive at all. Mostly 1980′s era aerobics jazzercizey type classes. There are no classes that use barbells or heavy free weights like those at some of the more progressive gyms like Lifetime, so don’t expect any class there to reshape your body.
The cardio machines are old and don’t even have headset plugs in them. In fact, the tv’s hanging from the ceiling have a sign that tells which radio station to turn to! Who brings a radio to the gym? Even the town rec center has tv’s attached to the cardio equipment and headset plugs.
My last really big issue with LA Fitness Euless is the temperature of the cardio area upstairs. Hot hot hot! No fans either! Great if you are in the mood to sweat like a pig in the dead of winter, but not so much if its already 100 outside and feels the same upstairs in summer. No fans? Really???
The company is not responsive at all to suggestions and they don’t even have an email address to send suggestions to. I tried calling the area supervisor about getting some more advanced classes, but she told me they don’t want anyone to get hurt. Ummm okay, why don’t we all just stay home and sit on the couch so we won’t get hurt exercising.
So basically, LA Fitness Leesburg is a good gym if you’re new to exercise or a serious body builder, not so great if you are an experienced exerciser who wants progressive classes that incorporate weights and a cool cardio area that entertains while you train.

Looking at the other Euless TX LA Fitness reviews here I began wondering if I was overly positive in my evaluation of this gym. I’ve given it 4 Stars overall and even after thinking things through again I guess this is where I’d rate the place.

This gym fulfills on their end of the bargain. Lots of workout options and the place is kept in good shape. Sure, some of the treadmills may break down now and then but as a rule the equipment is maintained as well as you can expect from any gym. Same goes for the cleanliness of the locker rooms. Better than average. Ditto on the parking.

If there is a disproportionate number of less-than-positive reviews, I think it may be due in part to the fact that people are expecting a lot more out of a gym these days but don’t really want to pay for “better”. So they’ll workout at LA Fitness and then when something doesn’t fulfill the perfect image they have in their mind they jump ship and go to 24 Hour Fitness, Curves, Lifetime Fitness, a Crossfit box, or whatever. I guess that big-box gym companies like this may placate to this type of mindset and so people come in to a place like the Euless LA Fitness and then feel let down, but it’s not the gym’s fault really…it’s their own.

  5. Gloria Kelly says:

The highest rating I can give this gym is two stars. The place can just barely be considered “descent”. I’m not grossed out when I come here, but something I think that they’re pushing it. The place is due from some type of deep cleaning.

The equipment is getting worn down too. A lot of the treadmills make a bunch of racket. They need to be refurbished or replaced. I don’t see it happening anytime soon though. I’ve asked at the front desk and they have no idea. I guess word has not come down from on-high about whether they’re going to do anything or not.

Classes here need a bit of variety. It’s obvious that the instructors come in and just do their routine and then leave. They don’t change the music, they don’t change nothing. It’s obvious that they’re just trying to collect a pay check. Enthusiasm is lacking.

I’m probably going to be moving in the next six months, so it’s my hope that there will be another LA Fitness in that area as this one is seriously letting me down.
