Here’s a quick overview of what you’re going to find at the LA Fitness in South Arlington. The facility itself is semi-attached to a series of stores in what looks like a V-Shaped shopping center when viewed from the air. It backs up directly to the off-ramp which connects highway 287 to I-20. Although the club is part of a shopping center, it’s of newer construction and gym is pretty much the same as other new-construction LA Fitness locations.
The gym’s impressive size means that it has plenty of floor space to stock large amount of fitness equipment. Whether you prefer to train for strength, speed, or endurance, there is doubtless solutions here that will help you achieve that next level of health that you are looking for.
Inside cardio lovers will find a phalanx of treadmills and rowing machines, ellipticals and stairmasters in the cardiovascular training center. Strength junkies can choose from either free weights or selectable machines set up in a traditional circuit training model. REMEMBER: No doing curls in the squat rack!
Like all of the other full-featured LA Fitness locations, the one in South Arlington Texas sports a series of premium features such as a full-length basketball court, group exercise classes (free with membership), indoor pool, Kids Klub child watch center, sauna and spa. A juice bar is also on-site at this club.
I was really jealous that whenever I go to hang out with friends or family, I always seem to see either an LA Fitness or a 24 Hour Fitness right around the block from where they live yet no “super-gym” ever seemed to pop up in my neck of the woods. I began to think that there was something wrong with where I lived. I mean, why would my neighborhood get neglected? I see plenty of people out jogging and stuff, so it’s not like there is a lack of fitness interest in this area or anything. Finally, they decided to put a LA Fitness club in to this new shopping center. As soon as I saw this I nearly...Read More
Reviews of the South Arlington, TX LA Fitness club can be found below. Remember to take what you read with a grain of salt. It’s often the case that those who have had a bad experience will share their frustration online but those who are extrememly happy with their membership don’t even think of writing a review, so impressions can be skewed downward. That being said, it’s always a good idea to get a free 1-day pass and check out any gym before joining so you can get your own impression on how the club is operated.

I began to think that there was something wrong with where I lived. I mean, why would my neighborhood get neglected? Finally, they decided to put a LA Fitness club in to this new shopping center. As soon as I saw this I nearly jumped for joy. I’d dropped my contract at my old gym a while back and was seriously refusing to join anywhere else because I knew that just as soon as I did they’d put one of they monster-clubs up in my back yard. I’m really glad I waited, because this gym is great.
For the most part, I try to keep things varied. I’ll do some weight training to build muscle but I like to get my heart rate up on the cardio equipment too. As you can expect, since this place is fairly new all the equipment is top-knotch and never seems to be down. This makes it a lot less stressful to get a workout in if you have to come by during the busiest hours of the day (typically in the late afternoon) because that’s just how things play out that day.
I’m not really into the whole “team sports” type of thing myself. I lean more toward individual sport activities. I used to live in Colorado and would go snowboarding a lot. Obviously, that doesn’t happen here in Texas. Anyway…this LA Fitness has a basketball court but I don’t really join in as that’s not really my thing. It seems to be pretty popular though because people are always there and seem to be having a great time. I might try out the racquetball court on day if I can find someone that is willing to teach me.
The staff here is great. Kind and courteous and always seem to be trying to keep the place clean and improve the experience for the members. I hope it stays that way. I guess it might be possible for things to slide once the club is established and things work into a rut of a routine for those working here.
In the end, I have only good things to say about this gym. I give two big thumbs up to the South Arlington, TX LA Fitness. It’s clean, convenient, and chock full of stuff to do. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend joining this gym is if you live more than 20 minutes away. I’d be willing to bet that, regardless of how nice this place is, the drive would quickly end up being something that would keep you from coming and you would probably end up wasting your membership. That’s the only reason why I’d tell anyone not to join though.
